FINAL CRYENGINE3

ELIZABETH DILLER. free flowing, crafted relationship to the environment and futuristic-give the sense of openness to environment or surrounding.

FREI OTTO. weightlessness, static or stable states - tensile models as basis for creating aerodynamic undulating forms

CONCEPT.INTERCONNECTED. Basically, this monument is exploring the two initial ideas of weightlessness, static and strong relation to environment. The monument welcomes a sense of lightness and motion. The clean and light structure almost like an object, a sculpture, in the middle of the floodplain in the landforms, although very conspicuous, seems finely attuned to its surrounding. The idea of interconnected is to create a universal space that could engulf all, nature, building and man.

LANDFORM.

DAYTIME.

the monument seems being detached from the ground and becomes 'exalted' place for contemplation.

most spaces are light, open and transparent to surrounding site, and also uncluttered in itself.
the shape almost seems flat and static, but also combined with the undulating forms to rise its special kind of complexity.

textures and light give this monument its definitive character. Structures and features manipulate light to generate fascinating shadows and textures. The resulting shadows should cast intriguing, shifting patterns and textures throughout providing natural and dynamic forms of ornamentation.

FINAL REVIEW AND DEVELOPMENT

ELIZBETH DILLER AND FREI OTTO

Elizabeth Diller
1. Freeflowing, interconnected spaces and programs
2. Skin/surface and ideas of porosity, depth of field
3. Specific, crafted relationship to surroundings/environment
4. Manipulation of 'natural' elements as building materials (foliage, mist etc)
5. Use of technology to enhance spatial field (video, sound etc)

Frei Otto
1. Efficiency of structure/materiality and space
2. Experimental and unique
3. Static/stable states - tensile models as basis for creating areodynamic undulating forms
4. Biomimicry - looking to different cell structures as inspiration (soap bubbles etc)
5. Weightlessness and all encompassing superstructures/spaces
Initial Idea
Frei Otto. encompassing superstructure or spaces.

Elizabeth Diller. undulating, relation to landscape and futuristic.

COMBINED.
Idea- exploring the combination ideas of weightlessness (shown through the static-flat form) and its intimacy relation to the surroundings, also combined with the undulating forms to rise its special kind of complexity. to adjust the increasingly modern and futuristic culture today.

the development..

FORM. combination ideas of weightlessness, static and its intimacy relation to the surroundings.
CONCEPT. Monument 1, Monument 2, Meeting Point

MATERIALS USED.
Vertical Wall. Combination of Satin Concrete, play with plain light gray concrete and some custom textures
Roof. Combination of Satin Concrete and glass, printed with custom texture
Floor. Concrete with texture motif (combination of light and dark textures)
